News from Joy Blooms

October is here! Let’s take a look back at our busy September.

We received beautiful floral donations from Trader Joe’s, Kennicott, Martin’s Supermarkets, and local growers—thank you! Your generosity helps us share even more joy throughout the community.

We are always learning; we recently learned that the pumpkin on a stick (shown above) is an annual, also called Ornamental Eggplant! These beauties added so much charm to our bouquets. Thanks to Trader Joe’s for all the unique florals they share with us!

Activities

Joy Blooms hosted a sold-out Bouquet Class at Wellfield Botanic Gardens and looks forward to more in the future! We also supported our partnership with Wellfield by providing small bouquets for their Evening in the Gardens event.

Donations needed

Please consider a donation from our Amazon Wish List or a monetary donation to help us with everyday expenses and necessary equipment. We also are accepting donations of empty cat litter buckets, good condition dish towels, rubber bands, and vases of all sizes. Contact us to arrange drop-off.

We’re excited to share that Joy Blooms is now approved to receive floral donations from Notre Dame events! We’re setting up a new satellite workspace in South Bend and would love your help as we grow.

Financial donations and volunteers are both needed to get the new space up and running—please spread the word to anyone who might be interested. And don’t forget to like and share our posts on Facebook to help us reach even more people. Thank you for supporting us during this exciting time!

Announcing our South Bend Satellite Workspace!

A huge thank-you to Holy Cross Village for donating space next to Notre Dame, where we’ll process floral donations from campus events. We’re so grateful for this partnership—your generosity will help us share joy with nursing homes, senior living communities, and nonprofit programs throughout the South Bend area!

Bouquet Sponsorships

Our new Bouquet Sponsorship Program is a meaningful way for businesses and individuals to support our mission of delivering around 275 bouquets each week.

We currently are raising funds for a matching grant to help us purchase a floral cooler for our Elkhart location. This will enable us to optimize the condition of our bouquets while they await delivery. Sponsorship is a great way to help us quickly achieve our goal as well as cover operating expenses.

Your sponsorship includes your name or logo on bouquet cards, the option to dedicate in honor or memory of someone special, and recognition on our Facebook page and our newsletter.

Volunteer Opportunities

Fall is here and we have many opportunities as our mission grows—we need your help!

Volunteers: If you haven’t tried certain roles yet, now’s a great time to jump in. Many opportunities take just 1–2 hours. We especially need help on these days:
• Wednesday mornings – bouquet making & deliveries
• Thursday all day - prep, arrange, deliver flowers
