News from Joy Blooms

May brought both challenges and meaningful impact. Due to the busy Mother’s Day season, our wholesale and retail donors had fewer flowers available than usual. Even so, we used every stem possible to continue our mission.

Thanks to careful planning and generous donations, we were able to support:

• Faith Mission Graber House

• Our Open House flower giveaway

• Lifeline Youth Ministries summer interns

• Memorial Children’s Hospital patients and families

• Many of our regular delivery partners

We are incredibly grateful to all who helped make this possible.

Wedding & Event Donations
We were honored to receive flowers from three weddings, which were processed at our Holy Cross Village workspace in South Bend. Thanks to Alyssa Bubik & Alec Demmig, Molly Doyle & Clay Talbot, and Sabrina Smith & Riley, we shared bouquets with 195 nursing care residents.

Additional floral donations came from events at Ruthmere Museum and Ruoff Mortgage, as well as contributions from Matzke Florist, an employee appreciation event, and local home growers. Thank you for helping us extend the life and beauty of these flowers!

Growing in South Bend

Exciting things are happening at our South Bend workspace!

• Bouquet creation now takes place on the 1st and 4th Thursdays of most months

• Ongoing donations from Notre Dame and South Bend venues continue to grow

• We are expanding service to more nursing facilities, senior communities, and nonprofits

Summer weddings are underway, with more scheduled throughout the season.

Volunteers are still needed. Come experience joy and help us share it! Register on our website!

Vases Needed

Donated vases are essential to our work.

• Smaller and bud vases are especially needed right now

• Organizations can host vase collection drives

• New drop-off locations are being added—check our website for updates

We are also seeking additional vase collection sites in the South Bend/Mishawaka area and surrounding Elkhart communities. Please contact us if you would like to host a vase drop-off site.
