News from Joy Blooms

Our Bouquet Sponsorship program has been a big hit! A heartfelt thank you to Centier Bank and Welch Packaging for sponsoring bouquets in November. Your support helps us continue sharing joy throughout our community!

Holiday gift-giving time is here, and a bouquet sponsorship makes a meaningful, joy-filled gift. Add a custom message and choose your delivery week from our available 2026 dates. We’ll even provide a digital gift announcement you can send to your recipient!

Activities

We spent a beautiful afternoon filling planters throughout Wellfield Botanic Gardens in preparation of the winter holiday season. Thanks to Wellfield Botanic Gardens for inviting us to participate!

This group from St. Mark Missionary Church in Mishawaka volunteered, prepping flowers for bouquets. Thank you ladies!

Donations needed

We are accepting donations of empty cat litter buckets, good condition dish towels, rubber bands, and vases of all sizes. Contact us to arrange drop-off.

Joy Blooms was selected for a Giving Tree at Wellfield’s Winter Wonderland Holiday Lights! As you enjoy the displays, be sure to visit our tree and the others supporting local nonprofits. A portion of ticket sales on November 29 will benefit Joy Blooms. Please enjoy the lights and support the mission of Joy Blooms!

Notre Dame/Holy Cross Update

The first volunteer orientation at our South Bend satellite location was a big success! If you’d like to assist with donations from Notre Dame events, join us for orientation on the first Wednesday of each month at Holy Cross Village next to Notre Dame.

Our workspace is stocked and ready for upcoming donations—including a scheduled March event and more to come—and we will need plenty of helping hands.

Please register to volunteer and help us share joy with nursing homes, senior living communities, and nonprofit programs across the South Bend area.

New Partnerships

We were so excited to support Hello Gorgeous at their recent event! We also are now providing bouquets of joy to Ryan’s Place in Goshen, Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Indiana and ASCENT Hospice in Mishawaka! New partners mean we are sharing joy with MORE people!

Thank you to Boys and Girls Club and Junior Achievement for donating flowers from your fundraising events to Joy Blooms! Your generosity enabled us to share a lot of beauty and joy!

Volunteer Opportunities

Winter is here and we have many opportunities as our mission grows—we need your help! The need for volunteers continues even when the weather turns cold!

Volunteers: If you haven’t tried certain roles yet, now is a great time to jump in. Many opportunities take just 1–2 hours. We especially need help on these days:

• Wednesdays-Vase cleaning at Hellenic Senior Living Elkhart

• Wednesday morning – P/U floral donations-Trader Joe’s, South Bend

• Thursday morning - P/U floral donations at Kennicott Brothers, South Bend.
